How to Recharge Your Vapor Trapper

Keep track of the internal components and their original placement as the canister is opened.
Step 3: Remove the Used Charcoal Media
Empty the old activated charcoal from the canister into an appropriate container.
Make sure the inside of the canister is clean before adding the new media.
Step 4: Add the New Activated Charcoal
Pour the replacement charcoal from the Vapor Trapper Recharge Kit into the canister.
Pack the charcoal media tightly so the canister is completely filled. Leaving large empty spaces can allow the media to shift and may reduce its ability to effectively capture fuel vapors.
Step 5: Reinstall the End Cap
Once the canister is filled, reinstall and securely tighten the end cap.
Check that all internal components are positioned correctly and that the end cap is fully seated.
Step 6: Reinstall the Canister
Mount the Vapor Trapper back onto the vehicle and reconnect the fuel-rated vent hoses.
Inspect all connections to make sure the hoses are secure, free of damage, and properly routed.
What Can Cause the Charcoal to Become Saturated Early?
Under normal use, a Vapor Trapper should not need frequent maintenance. However, the charcoal can become saturated prematurely if liquid gasoline enters the canister.
